SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. —

A Ligonier woman is in a hospital after being attacked by a deer in Stoneycreek Township.

Jamie Detweiler, 35, an environmental specialist for Musser Engineering of Central City, was studying wetlands Wednesday at a Shanksville hunting preserve when the buck charged her.

Detweiler was gored in the leg. She was treated at a Johnstown Hospital.

The owner of the hunting preserve said it's the first time he's seen something like this happen.
