Device Found At Local High School

Students Evacuated To Football Field

 

ROSSLYN FARMS, Pa. —

4 PM UPDATE: The bomb squad took the device off site and detonated it. The crews told Channel 11 the device was not a bomb. The squad followed up with a sweep of the entire school and did not find anything else.

3:15 PM UPDATE: Channel 11 has learned the bomb squad is still at the scene, trying to remove the device.

The Allegheny County bomb squad was called to a local high school Wednesday afternoon in response to a threat.

Channel 11’s Gordon Loesch has learned that a device was found at 1:15 p.m. in the boy’s bathroom at Carlynton High School.

Officials said it was a metal object with tape wrapped around it and wires sticking out from it.

Students were evacuated to the football field and then dismissed early.

No injuries were reported.
