Now there may be a solution in the form of a food spray.

The spray comes in several different flavors.

Developed by a chef and sold online, the food sprays have zero percent fat, calories and carbohydrates. But what about the taste?

Can a chocolate fudge spray really taste like chocolate fudge sauce on your plain ice cream?

Channel 11 put several of the food sprays to the test.

People sometimes can't help craving their favorite food -- sometimes just a taste is enough.

The food sprays promise to give you just that.

Channel 11 found six taste testers and selected five different spray flavors: Memphis Barbeque, Cookies and Cream, Ranch, Chocolate Fudge and Teriyaki.

While the label suggested a serving size was just two sprays, in most cases the taste testers said they needed four.

How did the food sprays compare to the real deal?

Cookies and Cream - Thumbs up

Chocolate Fudge - Thumbs up

Teriyaki Spray - Thumbs up

Memphis Barbeque - Mixed reviews

Ranch - Thumbs down

While many of these flavors taste just like the real thing, in order to really cut the calories you've got to give up texture.

While the chocolate fudge spray won't turn a rice cake into a candy bar, the taste will give consumers at least half the pleasure.
