Domestic Dispute Charges Dropped Against Ex-Steelers QB Tomczak

BELL ACRES, Pa. —

Domestic dispute charges gave been dropped against former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mike Tomczak.

Tomczak was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with an altercation at his Bell Acres home, police said.

Police said they've been called to the house before, but they had never arrested Tomczak.

However, he was arrested in connection with Monday's incident.

"We viewed the two of them arguing," Bell Acres Police Chief Brian Brown said. "She explained that he lunged at her and stepped on her foot. We did see a minor injury to her foot, which she did not require treatment for, but the law is very clear: any kind of injury in a domestic case results in an arrests."

Tomczak was charged with two counts of simple assault, which were dropped on Tuesday.

"This is a private matter between the Tomczaks and we're just pleased the charges have been dismissed and that they are going to move on," his attorney, Robert DelGreco, said.

Tomczak played for the Steelers from 1993 until 1999.
