MOUNT LEBANON, Pa. —
Twenty-year-old Benjamin Cope, of Mt. Lebanon, is charged with striking and killing 36-year-old Lisa Styles in June.
Cope had been charged with driving under the influence, but new charges including homicide by vehicle while DUI and involuntary manslaughter were announced Thursday.
Police say Cope was under the influence of marijuana when the SUV he was driving struck Styles on June 28 as she pushed her two young children in a stroller. The children were not seriously hurt.
Police said he failed to stop properly at the intersection of Beadling Road and Washington Road.
