Duquesne Suspends Co-Ed Connected To Shootings

Transfer Student Was Hurricane Katrina Victim

PITTSBURGH —

A 19-year-old co-ed connected to the shootings at Duquesne University has now been suspended from school.

Brittany Jones transferred to the campus last year as a victim of Hurricane Katrina.

University President Charles Dougherty issued this statement.

"Duquesne University reached out to Brittany Jones in an act of charity in accord with our fundamental mission of serving God by serving students. Her alleged actions show that our concern for her was not reciprocated and that she is not representative of our student body."
