A West Mifflin family that has been dealing with a sanitation problem for several months may soon be getting a fix.
Mike Barone told Channel 11’s Alan Jennings that the damage and stench inside his New England Road home is becoming too much to deal with.
Barone said the basement of his family home has been flooded with raw sewage since June. He said his family hasn’t been able to use the toilets in the house since then, as well.
According to Barone, his children have been sick because of the sanitation issue.
After viewing the home, Jennings made a call to the Health Department. He also visited the sewer authority on Municipal Road and talked to general manager Pat Canavan, who promised to make the Barone’s house a priority.
It’s unclear when the sewer authority plans on making repairs to the Barone’s house, but they promised the family it would be soon.
