Father Says Man Allegedly Tried To Lure Daughter Away From Butler Home

BUTLER, Pa. —

Police said a man tried to lure a 5-year-old girl away from her Carbon Street home in Butler, Butler County.

Channel 11 spoke with the girl’s father on Thursday.

“He was here. My daughter was sitting here, and I was in the recliner. I came out on the porch while she was talking to him,” said Chuck Kessler. “I asked him, ‘What are you doing to my daughter?’ He said ‘I’m here to say hi.’ I said, ‘No, you’re hiding.’ The next thing I know, he took off running.”

The incident allegedly happened two weeks ago.

Police arrested and charged Scott Christopher Walker, 28, whom they said lives around the corner along Cecelia Street in a halfway house.

“I can’t forget his face. He has those beady eyes,” said Kessler.

Walker's charges include interference with the custody of children, false identity to law enforcement and disorderly conduct. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 6.
