Fayette County Woman Who Died Of H1N1 ID'd

 

CONNELLSVILLE, Pa. —

A mother of three has been identified as the first person to die of swine flu in Fayette County in southwestern Pennsylvania.

Danielle Shuckhart, of Connellsville, died earlier this month. The woman was in her early 30s and did not have any other medical conditions or ailments when she died, the medical examiner said.

Deputy Coroner Marisa Springer said tests on autopsy samples confirmed the woman had the H1N1 virus, also known as the swine flu.

Shuckhart is survived by her parents and three young children.

The number of swine flu deaths in Pennsylvania has steadily grown since the first case was reported in April.

In Allegheny County, two people have died from the illness. One death was reported in Butler County.

As many as 24 people have died from swine flu throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
