FBI Undercover Operation Nets 11 Women On Suspicion Of Prostitution

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Nine female suspects were arrested in Moon Township, and two people were taken into custody in Monroeville, in a FBI undercover operation on suspicion of prostitution.

Police said the oldest was 64 years old; the youngest 31.

The FBI raided four local businesses in Moon Township and Monroeville Thursday night on suspicion of prostitution.

Police said these so-called massage parlors were raided simultaneously. Three were located in Moon, and another is in Monroeville.

"I can only say we have been putting this together since May," said Moon Township Police Chief Leo McCarthy. "We sent undercover operatives in. We got search warrants, and they were executed tonight."

Police said they collected evidence through undercover investigations showing the four businesses were operating as prostitution rings.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, with prostitution and other charges still pending.

Both Moon Township and Monroeville police worked with the Allegheny County district attorney's office in the undercover operation.
