BEAVER, Pa. —
Police said a car stopped at a stop sign on Shenango Road around 5:30 p.m. and then pulled into the path of a tractor-trailer travelling north on Wallace Run Road in Big Beaver.
The 16-year-old passenger, Jesse Pisano, was killed when the car caught fire. An autopsy scheduled for Friday will determine whether she died on impact or in the fire.
Two other teens in the car, Kayloni Bozic, 16, and Derek Bozic, 13, both of Beaver Falls, were taken to The Medical Center in Beaver. Their conditions are not known. The truck driver, 38-year-old Michael Hubrat, was not injured.
Neighbors told Channel 11 this was not the first time they have seen a deadly accident here.
Larry Lapinski said, "I'd venture to say there's probably a wreck here once a month. They had one fatality here a few years back. Fella had a heart attack, but this is probably, this is the worst one here."
Residents said they have been fighting for years to get a stop light at the intersection, but so far nothing has been done. They are hoping this latest accident will be a wake up call.
