Fire, Water Main Break Close Lanes Of Route 51

PITTSBURGH —

Everything has returned to normal after Firefighters dealt with two emergencies overnight in the Overbrook neighborhood.

First, a fire started in a vacant building on Route 51/Saw Mill Run Road before 2 a.m. Video from the scene showed flames shooting out of the roof.

Just a few minutes later, there was a water main break nearby at Glenbury Street and Aaron Avenue.

The break sent water rushing down the street into one garage.

About 20 customers lost water service. Pennsylvania American Water said repairs should be complete sometime Wednesday afternoon.

One lane of Route 51 was closed until around 5:45 a.m. because of the problems.
