Firefighter Injured Rescuing Man From Woods In Allegheny Co.

LINCOLN, Pa. —

The search for a missing man turned into a rescue mission Wednesday morning in the woods in Lincoln Borough, Allegheny County.

The incident began Tuesday night when two men from the Pennsylvania Game Commission found an unidentified man in the woods near Calhoun and Liberty Way.

The man was too weak to walk, and the two men who found him couldn't get to him so they called for help.

Firefighters used chainsaws to cut a path for rescue vehicles to get to the unidentified man. One firefighter injured his leg in the rescue.

Both the firefighter and the rescued man were taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. There is no word on either man's condition.
