The fire started in the basement of a home along Ramsey Road and quickly spread to the first floor.
The homeowner escaped the flames.
A lack of accessible fire hydrants required water tankers to be brought to the scene.
Fire officials said because the house was made of stone, it naturally contained the heat.
They said it appears the fire was electrical.
