Mayor Responds to Former Employee's Accusations

PITTSBURGH —

When Urban and Redevelopment Authority Director Pat Ford resigned this week he left a string of accusations behind.

Now Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl is fighting back saying Ford's accusations are untrue.

Ford's letter of resignation mentions a "culture of corruption" in the Mayor's administration and Ford calls himself a "scapegoat".

Friday morning Mayor Ravenstahl said, "that's outrageous".

Ford's attorney Lawrence Fisher showed up at the press conference and was escorted out by the Mayor's bodyguard.

He was not allowed to attend the meeting.

Fisher maintains his client has cooperated with investigators about allegations that he refuses to detail.

The Mayor said that no one from his administration has been contacted by any investigators and he was unaware of any investigation.
