ARMSTRONG COUNTY, Pa. —
The driver, 16-year-old Shawna Petrosky, was killed. Two passengers in the car -- her brother Eric Petrosky and cousin Greg Heeter -- were flown to Children's Hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Officials told Channel 11 when the car hit the truck, the rig's 41,000 pounds of coil came loose. The coil hit the cab of the trailer, and then rolled on top of the teen's car.
The driver of the truck, Sam Livengood, 44, was taken to a local hospital and will undergo blood-alcohol testing, which police said is standard procedure. Livengood's condition is not known.
An accident reconstruction unit was called to the scene. Witnesses told Channel 11 Petrosky had a flashing red light and Livengood had a flashing yellow light.
Route 66 in Armstrong County was closed for several hours because of the crash. The roadway reopened around 1:30 p.m.
