Former School Teacher Accused Of Bank Robbery

PITTSBURGH —

A former CAPA school science teacher was arrested and accused in a bank robbery.

According to Channel 11's partners at the Tribune Review, Alvin Carter and his girlfriend Philicia Barbieri were arrested Friday morning after a robbery at the Fifth-Third Bank in Shadyside.

Barbieri is a science teacher. She was suspended last month from the CAPA school, accused of stealing laptop computers.

Police said they caught Barbieri and Carter not long after they held up the bank.

They were found close by, in a school parking lot, authorities said.

A teller at the bank said Carter passed her a note demanding "$2,000 or he would shoot her."
