PENN HILLS, Pa. —
Hundreds of people were evacuated from the Petra Ministries' day care and school as a precaution.
According to officials from Dominion Gas, a third-party contractor was doing work in the area and punctured an 8-inch line in the former East Hills Shopping Center.
About 300 children and staff members from the Petra Ministries were loaded onto Port Authority buses and taken to a nearby church in Wilkinsburg.
No one was hurt.
Repairs to the ruptured gas line are underway.
