Groundbreaking Held For Mt. Washington Housing Development

PITTSBURGH —

Construction of a new housing development is underway on Mt. Washington.

Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Coldwell Banker Real Estate held a ground breaking ceremony at Sweetbriar Village Thursday morning.

The development will have 22 single and multi-family homes. The mayor hopes the addition of Sweetbriar Village will help the city grow. "I really think thats what this project is all about, a young developer doing a project that hopefully is gonna bring young families and young people back in our city because I know thats all of our goals, and to have a project like this in Mt. Washington is so very important to achieve those goals of trying to reverse the population decline and bring people back into the City of Pittsburgh," said Ravenstahl.

The project is committed to environmentally friendly practices. Townhomes at Sweetbriar Village will range from 2000 sq. ft. to 3800 sq. ft. and feature a variety of open floor plans that can be customized to suit each buyer's tastes and lifestyle including one, two or three-level living and standard deluxe amenities. Prices range from $325,000 through the mid $400,000s with low HOA fees.
