LIGONIER, Pa. —
Police said the boy and his father were firing a Remington Model 710.
The gun, according to police, apparently exploded in the boy’s face.
Officials said the problem may have been with the ammunition.
A man said he made a similar mistake once before.
“Of course, the other one is shooting wrong caliber shells in a rifle,” said Bob Hawk. “I did that one time, but I was lucky.”
Police said the boy was taken to Children’s Hospital, but his name and condition are not being released.
