New Fat-Fighting Pill Developed In Pittsburgh

Diet Pill Blocks Fat In Digestive System

PITTSBURGH —

For the first time, a fat fighter is available over the counter and the pill was developed in the Pittsburgh area.

The pill is called Alli. It is from Glaxo-Smithkline.

It actually blocks fat in your digestive system.

This pill is the only one that has approval from the FDA.

However, people need to eat a low-fat, low-calorie diet or face some discomfort.

Dietician Dana Opp said, “What the medication does is not allow the fat to be broken down.”

Health experts said the magic to losing weight is a combination of a good diet and exercise and if your doctor approves, a weight loss supplement.
