POWHATAN POINT, Ohio —
Animal rescue crews, including the Emergency Management Agency and a veterinarian, gathered on a hillside along Route 7 in Powhatan Point where they worked to save the horse.
A member of Frog Pond Farm in Cambridge said the horse had probably never been handled.
Rescue workers dug foot holds into the cliff on Friday, and it's believed the horse may have used them to climb back up sometime late Friday or early Saturday.
Animal crews are hoping to rescue several other horses living that live in the same area as the once stranded horse to ensure a similar incident doesn't happen again.
