Officers Eric Kelly, Paul Sciullo and Stephen Mayhle were killed in a standoff two weeks ago in Stanton Heights.

Sunday afternoon, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Chaplancy Corps hosted an interfaith community service to remember the officers.

Earlier this week, neighbors gathered for a candlelight vigil, prayer service, and pot luck dinner at the school.

Ministers representing the Catholic, Protestant, Jewish and Islamic faiths led the service at Sunnyside Elementary School.

"It was just surreal," said Stanton Heights resident Joyce Meggerson-Moore. "I went out and picked up the paper and saw the helicopters and didn't really think of anything."

"As we all know, there are no routine calls," said former Pittsburgh Police Chief Dom Costa. "I don't know what these officers could have done to make it different."

Representatives for the Center for Victims of Violent Crimes and other safety officials also came out to offer their services.

Richard Poplawski, 22, is charged in the officers' slayings.
