Jail Guard Linked To FBI Slaying Case To Be Fired

PITTSBURGH —

Allegheny County Manager William Flynn said a jail guard who testified about an FBI slaying suspect's recorded phone calls will be fired because he falsely claimed to be a former police officer.

Flynn said Thomas Leicht, 47, of North Versailles, is losing his job over allegations reported by Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE after he testified at a pretrial evidence hearing in the case of Christina Korbe, 41. She's awaiting trial on charges she killed FBI agent Samuel Hicks, who raided her home in November 2008.

Leicht is the jail's internal affairs chief and testified in June about his police background before he detailed recordings of calls that Korbe made after her arrest. Leicht claimed to be a certified police officer, but has previously only worked as a dispatcher in a Pittsburgh suburb.
