Kennedy Twp. House Fire Victim Lost Everything, Even His Dog

KENNEDY TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Firefighters were called to an intense two-alarm house fire in Kennedy Township on Thursday.

The blaze broke out shortly after 9 a.m. at a residence along Sunset Drive.

Channel 11 News spoke with the owner of the house, 63-year-old Al Stadalnikas. He said it was his parents’ house, and he’d been living there for a long time.

"I was at work on Route 60 at Petco, and they called me and said they got bad news for me," Stadalnikas said. "My house is on fire."

He said he had just let his insurance lapse because the payments were too high. He also lost his dog in the fire.

Officials said Stadalnikas also had two guns inside the house, and ammunition popped as the fire blazed.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
