Latrobe Plant Laying Off Workers

Ceratizit To Reduce Staff To 20-25 Workers

LATROBE, Pa. —

Ceratizit will lay off workers at its Latrobe plant as it reorganizes its U.S. manufacturing operations.

The company, a global tool manufacturing business, is centralizing its cutting tool manufacturing residing in Westmoreland County into the production facility in Warren, Mich.

Other departments and business sectors in Latrobe are not affected.

Workers said they have been told the layoffs will happen within 60 days and that the Latrobe location will be downsized to 20 to 25 workers.

The plant had 130 workers when Ceratizit, of Luxembourg, bought it in 2007, but some have been laid off since.
