Latrobe Workers To Keep Jobs

A deal is in place to allow Rolling Rock workers to keep their jobs.

The union approved an agreement with City Brewing Sunday.

The Wisconsin-based company will buy the Latrobe Brewery from In-Bev USA.

The Rolling Rock beer brand was sold to Anheuser-Busch.

Production of the beer will move to Newark, N.J.

One union worker said while the new labor contract means sacrifices, there are also benefits.

Brewery worker Bob Gorinski said, "I'm hoping to gain more with this owner. I was laid off a lot. Hopefully with this new group, we'll be working more."

About 50 workers will not have jobs initially under City Brewing.

Employees will have to take cuts in pay and vacation days.

Latrobe Brewery closes next week.

The union expects the new owners to reopen it on Jan. 1.
