Andy Theobalt is leaving behind a longtime girlfriend. He said he will stay in touch through emails.
"When you are over there, you don't want to worry too much about what's happening over here. You are just worried about what you are doing, but it's nice to keep in touch and see what's going on," said Theobalt.

"I think it's a good thing. He's brave. I wouldn't do it so someone has to," Castelli said.
One mother, Earla Wearing, fought back tears when asked how she felt about seeing her son off.
"Freedom for all of us. And he is a part of that, so it's mixed feelings. It's pride and bittersweet because he is going to be leaving," said Wearing.
Airman Eric Wearing said it's never an easy task getting things in order, such as finances and wills. But for those who have done it before, Wearing said it does get easier.
"The second time -- it's not as bad. The first time was real hard, but the more you go, the easier it will be," said Wearing.
This group is expected to be gone 179 days and return sometime midsummer.
