Bio: Ed Bortz, born in Pittsburgh in 1948, worked as a control systems engineer and electrician for most of his life. The nature of his employment resulted in moves across the country and sometimes around the world. For the past two decades, he has also been a writer, poet, and activist in the Green Party, peace and social justice movements.

He has four sons and six grandchildren.

Hundreds of Bortz's poems, stories, and essays have appeared in a wide range of publications, and at EbBortz.blogspot.com. Voices of a Wanderer, an early collection of poems and stories, was published in 1993.

Ed Bortz and Sandra Hazley share a home in the Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. They avidly kayak the rivers and bicycle the streets and trails.
