Uniontown grandfather saved by granddaughter, friends
A local grandfather says he has his young granddaughter and her friends to thank for saving his life.
Buddy Snowden, of Uniontown, said he collapsed inside of his home back in June. When he woke up 18 hours later he learned that his granddaughter, Sofia, and her friends Cheyenne Palmer and Kaylee Zuzak acted swiftly to get help.
Snowden said the girls were swimming in his backyard pool when they came inside to find him lying on the floor.
“They came in the house to find me lying on the floor with no response,” Snowden said.
“I was really scared and worried that he wouldn’t make it,” said Sofia Snowden.
Sofia said she dialed 911 while her friends ran to get help.
Snowden said he has a left ventricular assist device for his congestive heart problem. The 75-year-old said the last thing he remembers is taking some of his wife’s medication.
“I’m just happy I have a great family and I can be here with them,” Snowden said.
Snowden said he presented the three girls with medals for their heroic actions.
“I’m happy he’s still here,” Cheyenne said.
“I feel grateful for myself and him. I’m happy for him to be here today,” said Kaylee.
Snowden said he now has to visit a doctor once a month for a checkup.
