Good Samaritans help clean up McKees Rocks townhouse where decomposed body was found

McKEES ROCKS, Pa. —

Neighbors living near a McKees Rocks townhouse, where an 81-year-old woman was found dead inside, told Channel 11 last week that the area smells.

Channel 11 learned on Monday that some Good Samaritans have been helping clean the home after watching Channel 11's report Friday.

Officials said the Department of Aging and county homicide detectives found the woman's body inside the Clay Way home Thursday night.

Police said the woman's two daughters, who are mentally disabled, were living with their mother's decomposed body.

One of the daughters went to a next door neighbor's house and that neighbor called 911.

Investigators said they believe the woman had been dead for several weeks. They don't believe foul play was involved.

Neighbors Channel 11 spoke with on Friday are upset about the odor.

"It stinks. You can smell it coming from the house next door," said Christina Moneck.

Officials told Channel 11 it's up to the victim's relatives to have the townhouse cleaned. Moneck said she can't wait that long and plans to contact the health department.
