10 cows electrocuted in freak Lawrence County farm accident

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Pa. —

Ten cows were killed in Lawrence County after a guy wire broke and fell on top of live power lines.

Channel 11 News has learned that the live wires fell to the ground on Garner Road in Pulaski Township Monday evening.

Officials said 69,000 volts went into the ground and killed eight full-sized cows and two calves.

The power line failure also left almost 2,000 customers without service in Pulaski and Mahoning townships.
