16 people displaced after transformer fire spreads through Oakdale apartment building

OAKDALE, Pa. —

More than a dozen people are without homes after an early-morning fire spread through an apartment building in Oakdale.

The fire marshal said a sagging power line hit the Oakdale Diamond apartment building around 1:30 a.m. sparking a series of surges which then started the blaze.

"Everything was blowing up, shaking, shattering and roaring, and we all got out and seen all the wires being burned down," said resident James Redding.

No injuries were reported.
