Police in McKees Rocks said they're searching for a man who pistol-whipped and fired a gun at a father and son early Monday morning.
Authorities said they think the incident started as an argument that has been building up for some time.
“We aren’t sure if this is something that festered immediately or if this was something that had been brewing or some type of feud that has been brewing for quite a while,” McKees Rocks Police Chief Robert Cifrulak said.
Investigators said the gunman ran into a building on Island Avenue after the fight, but was not located by officers.
“Who ultimately came out of the building was an adult woman and her adult son. The victims said that these two people who came out were not the person who was involved in the shooting,” Cifrulak said.
It was not made immediately clear if either victim was hit by the bullets.
“This is very serious and we can’t stand for gunfights in the streets. This isn’t the wild west,” Cifrulak said.
