2 hospitalized in DUI crash; Cranberry man arrested

PITTSBURGH —

A Cranberry man was arrested early Sunday morning after police said he was drunk when he caused a two-car accident in the North Side.

According to police, Andrew Orr, 26, ran a red light in his Nissan Murano and struck a Subaru about 4 a.m. at the intersection of West General Robinson and Anderson streets.

Paramedics took two of the three occupants in the Subaru to Allegheny General Hospital. Passenger Chaz Scheidlmeir is listed in serious condition with a head injury. Joseph Cyprowski, the driver, was treated for shoulder and neck injuries and released.

Investigators said Orr told police he had been gambling at the Rivers Casino. His blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit, according to the police report.

Orr was charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while intoxicated, driving under the influence and two traffic violations.
