MURRYSVILLE, Pa. —
Police said a Murrysville man lured his wife to the parking lot of an animal hospital, where he fatally shot one of her friends and wounded another before taking his own life.
Murrysville police Chief Thomas Seefeld said 21-year-old Michael Lunsford lured his wife, Ashley, to the lot by calling to say her dog had been injured.
McHugh arrived with a family she had been staying with, when she and Lunsford began arguing.
Lunsford then shot 50-year-old Gina Llewellyn and her daughter, Lynall -- both friends of McHugh's – as they tried to intervene. He then fatally shot himself.
“Ashley had been visiting friends in Allegheny Township and had her friends drive her down to meet Lunsford and the dog,” Seefeld said.
Gina Llewellyn died at the scene and 22-year-old Lynall Llewellyn remained in critical condition Monday in a Pittsburgh hospital. McHugh was not injured.
The chief said Lunsford had a suicide note in his pocket.
“Investigators also revealed that perhaps the shooter and Ashley had somewhat of a rocky marriage, and a short marriage,” Seefeld said.
