MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. —
Two people had to be rescued from the wreckage of a crash that happened early Friday morning in McKees Rocks.
Police said two men were inside of the car when the driver lost control and hit two poles, shearing one of the poles in half on Centre Avenue.
Emergency workers said both men were taken to an area hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The impact from the crash knocked out power in the neighborhood. Residents said they were awakened by the sound of the crash.
"It was big and loud like somebody's racing or like drag racing, and then all of a sudden it was like a big bang boom and it was a big bright light. I looked out the window. It was like sparkles and then the car was sitting over there and I ran and got my phone," said neighbor Donna Dillard.
Centre Avenue was shut down for a short time while crews worked to clear the scene.
There is no word on what caused the crash. The victims are expected to be OK.
