77-year-old woman's home condemned after crews find 'deplorable' conditions

BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. —

A 77-year-old woman's home was condemned in Butler County after animal rescue crews found cats living in deplorable conditions.

Butler County Shelter Volunteers said they raided the Brady Street home on Sunday. Officials said dozens of cats were found, and some had to be euthanized.

Neighbors said when crews arrived to check on the 77-year-old woman, she wouldn't let them inside.

The woman was taken to a nursing home. Shelter volunteers said they found new homes for the cats that survived.
