Retailers trying to get a jump start on the competition are opening earlier and earlier this year.

Toys R Us will open at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving with more than 200 door busters.  Some of the biggest promotions are electronics.  

Toys R Us is offering a free $20 gift card along with a $30 iTunes gift card with the purchase of an Apple iPod Touch.

Last year, Target opened at midnight.  This year, the nation’s No. 2 retailer is opening at 9 p.m.

At 4 a.m., a 50-inch Samsung LED television will go on sale for $699.

Walmart will open at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

Sears will also open at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

Best Buy, Kohl’s and Macy’s will open at midnight on Black Friday.

A spokesperson told Channel 11 that Best Buy wants its employees to be able to spend Thanksgiving with their families.
