Body found floating in Monongahela River near the Mon Wharf ID'd

PITTSBURGH —

City police detectives and officials with the county medical examiner's office have identified the body found floating in a river near Pittsburgh's Mon Wharf parking lot Monday morning.

The body was reported shortly before noon Monday along the parking area, which lines a half-mile section of the north shore of the Monongahela River downtown.

The victim was identified as 68-year-old David King, of East Liberty.

Autopsies are routine on such bodies, and the Allegheny County medical examiner's office plans to conduct the post-mortem examination on Tuesday.

Investigators said King’s death does not appear to be suspicious.
