Bomb squad responds to West Mifflin trailer park for report of explosives

WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. —

The bomb squad was called to a trailer park in West Mifflin Monday morning after authorities said a 47-year-old man threatened to kill himself with a bomb.

According to police, officers arrived at the scene and took the man into custody. He was taken to a local hospital.

Authorities said the man had a device made out of sparklers, smokes, shotgun shells and duct tape.  There was no detonation device.

Officials said about 25 trailers were evacuated during the incident.

No injuries were reported.
