DONORA, Pa. —
A woman and child are recovering Thursday after a pack of dogs attacked them in Donora Wednesday night.
The attack happened around 11 p.m. on Thompson Avenue. Officials said an officer saw at least six dogs attacking the child.
Police said the dogs bit the boy more than once. The officer was able to grab the boy and carry him to safety.
Moments later, police said, the pack of dogs began attacking a neighbor.
The dogs’ owner spoke to Channel 11 News late Wednesday night.
“I don’t understand what happened. I don’t understand how they got out. And it’s not really like the dogs to do that because we play with them every day,” Brandy Pritchard said.
Both victims were taken to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries. Their names and conditions were not released.
The dogs are now with animal control officers and will be quarantined for the next 10 days. The owner said they are all pit bull mix breeds.
