Father, son accused of forging thousands of pill prescriptions in 3 counties

MOUNT LEBANON, Pa. —

A Mount Lebanon father and his son are accused of forging prescriptions to get thousands of narcotic painkiller pills from local pharmacies.

According to Channel 11’s news exchange partners at TribLIVE, Willard Grant and his son, Aaron Grant, are charged with forgery, criminal conspiracy and obtaining a controlled substance.

Authorities said the men are accused of obtaining more than 15,000 oxycontin pills from May 2010 through May 2011 at pharmacies in Allegheny, Fayette and Washington counties.

According to police, the Grants denied selling the pills and Williard Grant told authorities he’s addicted to them and uses all of them.

Detectives said the investigation started months ago when a Sam’s Club pharmacist called a doctor questioning a prescription.

Neighbors who live on Villawood Avenue in Mount Lebanon said the charges against the Grants surprised them.

“I’m beyond surprised. I’m shocked and amazed. I really don’t believe it,” a neighbor told Channel 11.

Officials said Aaron Grant admitted to making the prescriptions on his computer and said he was the only one who signed the doctor’s name.

Roxanne Sekinger said she’s lived near the Grants and doesn’t believe the charges.

“They are our friends. We’ve known them, and gone to grad parties with them. We talk every night. I don’t believe it,” Sekinger said.
