Burgettstown police department reinstated without chief, officer

BURGETTSTOWN, Pa. —

The Hanover Township board of supervisors suspended the police chief and patrolman after reinstating the police department Wednesday night.

Board supervisors said Police Chief James Geho and Officer Kent Mitchell were suspended but would not go into detail as to why the board took action against the police officers.

Geho and Mitchell may have faced suspension because of possible involvement with a half-million dollar lawsuit, according to The Observer-Reporter.

The board voted to reinstate the police department after disbanding last September due to budgetary problems.
