JEANNETTE, Pa. —
The Monsour Medical Center in Jeannette has been shut down for years, but Channel 11's Julie Fine found out there's sensitive information about former patients lying around inside. According to Fine, the materials could have easily fallen into the wrong hands. The hospital abruptly closed in 2006 after a number of state inspections, and city of Jeannette Solicitor Scott Avolio said the staff left a lot behind. "The most frustrating part of this is they shut the lights off and shut the door," Avolio said. Avolio said it's a multimillion-dollar project to take down the building, and that's money Jeannette doesn't have. He said he hopes a group of investors can come together and begin to make progress on the building and the area.
