REDSTONE TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

The mother of a 7-year-old boy shot in Redstone Township, Fayette County, on Tuesday said her son may be paralyzed.

State police said there was an argument, and 16-year-old Deago Eddings pulled out a gun and shot Ammare Williams in the chest.

Jamel Williams said she was in New York City when she received the news about her son. She said Ammare was staying at the Hunters Ridge Apartment complex with his godmother.

"I found the peace to know he is alive and still with us but honestly I'm not angry. I am more hurt," Williams said.

Williams said a bullet was removed from her son's spine but he does not have any feeling in his legs. She said there is a chance that he may never walk again.

Eddings remains on the run. Police said he was on probation for another incident when the shooting happened.

Authorities are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Eddings to contact them at (724) 929-6262.

Investigators say Eddings was last seen wearing black shorts and black-and-red Air Jordan shoes.
