A couple in Beaver County is homeless after their mobile home went up in flames on Thursday night.
Neighbors said the firefighters were fighting a losing battle. The fire started in the back of the mobile home on Route 68 and spread quickly throughout it.
Wilma Stang lives at the lower end of the trailer park and told Channel 11’s Timyka Artist that she got a frantic phone call from her sister-in-law around 7 p.m. concerned about the couple, in their 70’s, who lived in the burning mobile home.
The owners were not home at the time of the fire, but their home of many years is a total loss.
No one was hurt and no other homes were damaged.
The American Red Cross is assisting the homeowners, whose names were not released.
