Luis Brignoni felt like he didn’t have any other choice. Brugnoni shot the families Malamute-wolf mix dog and then cut it open after the dog bit off the finger of his 11 year old son.
The dog was in a cage but Fernando Brugnoni tried to reach in to pet the animal when it bit his hand and wouldn’t let go.
Another family member hit the dog and forced it to let go before Luis shot the animal.
"I said, 'I've got to go find the finger,'" Luis told the Bradenton Herald. "I got my gun and I popped him."
Luis rushed both the boy and the finger to the hospital but it was too damaged to be reattached.
Fernando is said to be recovering well despite the trauma.
