A development firm has offered to purchase the old Schenley High School building and supporters are hoping the sale will go through.
The school in North Oakland has been closed for nearly five years.
A firm has offered to purchase the building and wants to convert it into luxury apartments.
A public hearing was held Monday night where several people spoke in support of the sale.
"Schenley farms residents live with the uncertainly of the future of this building wondering about the impact on our home, life and property value. Please accept this bid," said one supporter.
The school board is set to vote on sale of the building Wednesday.
