Dogs chase down man accused of running from police in Rankin

RANKIN, Pa. —

Police dogs caught a man who officers said ran from them early Tuesday morning in Rankin.

Investigators said the man was wanted for a parole violation and took off from police around 1 a.m.  During the chase, police said the man got out of his car and tried to run away.

Police dogs caught him a short time later on Swissvale Avenue in Swissvale.

The suspect's name has not been released.

A police officer also reportedly hurt his leg during the pursuit.
